Err...it's more complicated than that, I'm sure you'll find that the corn starch and water will only take a certain impact, not like an impact from a shovel say. But I could be wrong

Exactly. It's what known as a Dilatant fluid. These types of fluids exhibit an increase in viscosity when the rate of shear is increased. The opposite of this is a pseudoplastic fluid (decrease in viscosity when shear rate is increased), an example of which is tomato ketchup.

oooh .. it's a magical non-Newtonian substance. Let's call it orange glop. If you wish to make essentially the same stuff at home mix: corn starch and water in a large bowl, color it orange and then hit it with your fist. It will instantly turn into a solid then back into a liguid. Just look up Glop in Google. The Catholic church has been using glop for years to freak people out
